Cardboard Boat Race is a fun, enjoy yourself, have-a-good-time race. Therefore, no matter how fast, slow, big, small, sensible or outrageous your boat is, the first rule is that the boat designers, builders, racers and supporters have fun. The winners are encouraged to put their boats in their yards to be displayed through the weekend or you can be in the parade. The race is open to everyone- especially pirates!
You do not have to buy the cardboard. If you call many of the retail stores and ask them if you can pick some up on their shipment days they will let you.
